  Vets are alright and seem to be professional, just the business model and pricing is not competitive or clear around certain services and products. I’m sure I’ll get heckled on my next visit over this review but though it best to share the experience and offer some cost saving advice.
  
  Don’t get your pets meds during a consult, instead ask for a paper prescription (they charge $22 for this, our other vet charges $16) and fill it online from a pet supply shop like pet circle or google “pet medication online” for in some cases 1/4 the price on offer from your vet. All vets do this, this one just seems to be higher than our other vet.
  
  Some of our friends at the local dog park say best friends is great, others say it’s not good. We have two dogs and a few cats, some are on the their care plan, which is basically a prepay option so read the fine print carefully.
  
  Keep in mind that any commercial vet clinic is a for profit business, so they are trying to make as much as possible, nothing wrong with that.
  
  Be smarter don’t hand over twice what something is worth and google before you pay.
  
  Update in response to stores reply: I called the day after and provided the details of the products in question to the senior vet on staff. He was apologetic and explained that the head office sets all pricing and they cannot deviate.
  
  Additionally my partner attended in person later that and received a 50$ discount on an additional vet visit. We didn’t opt for the medications at that time as none were required.
  
  There are also staffing issues here as they have been unable to hire replacement nursing staff or vets for over six months.
